Necessity is the mother of invention, Since the beginning of civilization this sentence has been the motivation behind innovation of things that make life easier for us. The continuously evolving technology has made a massive impact on the society and how day to day buisness is conducted.
With the creation of the steam engine in 1712 that was designed to get water out of the Welsh mines marked the beginning of the First Industrial Revolution driven by the motto “Getting more done”. Roughly a century later, the second industrial revolution began with the mass production of items like steel, oil and electricity in the industries. This period produced the most changes with the invention of things like the internal combustion engine, typewriter, light bulb and the power loom. The third Industrial Revolution also known as the digital revolution began in the late 19th Century with the invention of microprocessor which laid the foundation for modern day computers and other handheld digital devices.
When you ask someone about the fourth industrial revolution most people will say that it is automation, robotics etc. But it is not just about that. Because automation is still part of the digital revolution, as we have not achieved anything new. The fourth industrial revolution is all about introducing new concpts and do things things we havent been able to do before.
For example, if we look at Uber it has completely changed the way how we travel and go by our buisnesses, although to define it, it is just a taxi company with no cars of its own. Uber is responsible for directly creating 20,000 new jobs per month and powering billions in economic impact in cities around the world .It did not invenet anything new but revolutionized an old concept of travelling and thats just a part of what the fourth Industrial Revolution is all about. Which is the very beginning of what is about to come in later years.

An other rather fancy example of The Fourth Industrial Revolution is Genome Editing, where scientists are learning ways to hack biology by reprogramming DNA. That means people who are born with some diseases may be cured by rewriting or editing a particular sequence of their DNA by a powerful tool called CRISPR.
The fourth Industrial Revolution is not just about creating new technology, it is the application of digital technologies to our world, that gives us the oppertunity to change the way we live and work and achieve our goals cheaper, better and faster.
